How to Collaborate
- Share the document with colleagues (see Sharing and Permissions).
- When multiple people open the same document, you'll see:
- Colored cursors — Each person has a uniquely colored cursor showing where they're editing.
- User names — Displayed next to cursors so you know who is working where.
- All changes are updated instantly for everyone.
Comments
Add comments to any section of the document:
- Highlight the text you want to comment on.
- Click the comment icon (or use the keyboard shortcut).
- Type your comment and click Send.
- Colleagues can reply to comments or mark them as resolved.
Version History
Review all previous versions of the document:
- Click the "..." menu → select Version History.
- Browse through versions — each version shows the time and who made the edits.
- Click Restore if you want to go back to an older version.
Note: Restoring an older version creates a new version — it does not delete existing versions. You can always go back to any version.
Tips for Effective Collaboration
- Divide sections — Each person edits a different section to avoid conflicts.
- Use comments instead of editing directly when you want to give feedback.
- Check the history if you need to understand who changed what.
